Will Roddick Up his Game and Seeding?

The Us Open Tennis tournament is looming in the foreground for the World No. 13th seed Andy Roddick who today, will face World No. 3 Novak Djokovic in the Western and Southern Financial Group Masters in Cincinnati for a place in the semi-finals. Roddick is looking to attain his 3rd ATP World Tour Masters 1000 semi-final of the season, but Djokovic is standing in his way. Djokovic is hoping to reach Cincinnati final for the 3rd year in a row.

Roddick can draw on the fact that he beat Djokovic in their past three meetings, and leading in their head-to-head 4-2 matches. At their last match in the quarter-finals of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event in Montreal 2001; Roddick won in straight sets.

Andy found the clash with Djokovic made him bring everything to the table. Djokovic’s returns are top-notch, and he’s solid on the ground and off, making it very tough throughout the entire match. However, Roddick feels that each match is becoming a little better. His recent win over Robin Soderling helped boost his confidence with his up-coming match with Djokovic. He’s completely staying focused on this tournament at hand and not anticipating his US Open tennis schedule beginning on August 30, 2010.

No matter the outcome of today’s match, Roddick will leave the tournament a lot more confident then when he began.
